Aha! I remember this group of perverts from my DIY Jokegrind/Gorenoise/Cybershite CD-r/tape trading activities when I was heavily embroiled in the daft Traumatized Records project about four or five years ago. If I remember rightly, I received their School of Torture demo tape from some distro or other, which contained a Cybergrind inflected set of Pornogroove buffoonery, overtly simple in structure but fairly convincing in its delivery. Although with a slightly better production, the Bitch Infection audio smut seems to have remained unchanged since that jumbly little cassette. If you're familiar with this kind of lewd 'n' crude, good-time Porngrind filth, then you know what to expect; big ol' bondage beats, implausible riff simplicity, farcically basic structures, inane vokills and vulgar lyrical themes.

Inevitably, this, their second full length, begins with some pornographic film sample or other, which unfortunately bored the urea out of this reviewer well before the monotony of the music itself began to set in. When the tiresome sex sounds subside, the band immediately blow their chunksome chug-load, covering our displeased physiognomies with sticky riff rivulets, binary drum dribble and gelatinous vokill glop-chowder. The tiresome tunes of Tanga Mortale heave back and forth between common-time chug marches and perverse porno polkas only, humpin' away mindlessly at sewing machine-like rhythms, keeping the creativity to the barest minimum throughout. According to the line-up info, the drum tracks are all created from samples. It doesn' t make a huge heap of difference really, given that they are purely functional, providing a rather repetitive, largely uninspiring backbone to the rather repetitive, largely uninspiring songs. It's a cryin' shame that the vokills are so dreadful, 'cos a splash of juicier, pitchshifted colour here 'n' there may have served to lift the tedious tunes out of the murky chug-mud dullpit somewhat. Instead, the laryngeal upchucks with which unmusical expressions are accompanied adheres rigidly to terribly bland 'n' unimaginative arrangements, performed mostly by means of moist, glottal mediocrity. In fact, there are three or four back-to-back numbers during which the singer decides to adopt exactly the same vokill patterns for each. Frustrating to say the least!

When it comes to comparisons, we could easily liken Bitch Infection to the likes of Cock and Ball Torture and Rompeprop, perhaps even Utopie, maybe even Catasexual Urge Motivation, in that they borrow their depraved, S&M mosh-gore grooves but then drag them into a steamin' quagmire of insipidity, with any trace of the delicious decadence utterly depleted. If your Gore/Pornogrind collection allows, imagine the grotesque offspring of a marriage betwixt Hecatomb of Aberration by Pathologicum and Brutalized Blowjob by Meatknife, 'cos Tanga Mortale represents the kind of rotten afterbirth emitted right after the messy delivery of said unruly charge. In fact, it reminds me of the underwhelming Necromance album by Hymen Holocaust from a few months ago, only with much more featureless chuggery and even worse vokills. The preposterous minimalism with which the songwriting is approached gives the album a little bit of a Cybergrind atmosphere, even though it does not possess any electronic elements. Unavoidably, much of it recalls such ultra-underground, scum-caked, one-man bedroom/wankarium grime as Necrobestiality, old skool Amoebic Dysentery, Tumour, Anal Penetration, Episiotomy et al. You get the idea. Risibly, one of the riffs even descends towards piss-dull Pantera territory, pulling its riff directly from the middle-eight of a track from Far Beyond Driven!

There's not much else I can add really. Tanga Mortale is just 'more of the same', brain-dead 'n' predictable Pornogroove, with  every component of its throbular wobble seamlessly attuned to the sordid caveman centres of the human psyche. In the manner of the similarly inferior Necroharmonic release, The Cumback 2006 release by Gut, Tanga Mortale provides an extremely unchallenging listen that is appropriate only in the most inebriated of scenarios. Like a hefty wedge o' birthday cake, this kind of Grind can be an nice pile o' fun the first time around, but you need not go back again for any more until the same time next year.
