Hurrah! A quadruple helpin' of vulgar Cyberpornogoregroove! An extravagant ‘n' hedonistic collection o' Cyberporn debauchery! I found this stuff to be totally absurd, but thoroughly enjoyable. Colourful ‘n' splattery Cyberscapes made from truly perverse riffs ‘n' rhythms, chrome-plated blasturbation, whirly-swirly eccentricities, lewd porno samples and preposterous vokill mucilage!
Bloody Diarrhoea begin the perverted proceedings, bringin' a smile to your ears with some blithe Cyber daftness! Grubby grooves and clunky prog-drums form a backdrop on top of which the other bits ‘n' bobs, namely the madcap MIDI blips ‘n' blatts, amateur sound FX slop, crap samples and inane vokill shift, gurgle ‘n' plop, are all messily slapped. To put on this sickenin' spread, the band import a sac o' Sperman delicacies from the old skool Gut and Dead regions, lob in such lokill treats as Jig-Ai flavoured S&M riffs with a lil' Ahumado Granujo electronic silliness, then further exacerbate the slovenly sorditity by bringin' it to the boil in some vintage Amoebic Dysentery cookware. The over-cooked dish is also over-powered by a few obscure US Cybergrind ingredients; over-sugared with whimsical bits of Rectum by Goat Orgy, then over-egged by the dreadful back-up vox of Sleezy ‘n' Cheezy by Urethral Enema. On this Pornogroove split, Bloody Diarrhoea serve only as the fluffers!
I first heard Psychosadistic Haterapist when I reviewed 4 Way Vomitrocity on Traumatized Records zine, a DIY split that also featured Cyber clatter from Erotonomicon, lovely lo-fi Death/Grind by Uterus and even a bit of haphazard Power Violence from Septic Scum. Back then, the act seemed heavily influenced both musically and thematically by the Catasexual Urge Motivation, but with a frosty layer o' Lymphatic Phlegm, the percussive puerility of Pustulated and few splashes o' Squash Bowels. Those original inspirations remain fundamental to this recordin', but this time around the songwritin' is more experimental, one song in particular introduced by an ominous soundscape, full o' squirly terror and dangerous textures, afore pilin' headfirst into a subterranean Cybergrind mire! Ugly rhythms, frenzied tempos and hideous vox populate overcast, desolate Cyberscapes. The production is grainy ‘n' horrible, but that keeps you on your toes amid the freezin' claustrophobia. It's cold, callous ‘n' clinical in here, so come on in out o' the warm!
Fucksaw follow, with an arse wigglin' set o' tunes that provide ultimate Cybergrind satisfaction. This is a cohesive ‘n' superbly executed combination of Pornogrind and Acid Techno; pert but dirty riffs paired snugly with extremely danceable electronic rhythms, saturated with heavily processed vokill muck and splashed with carefully chosen, creatively manipulated and shrewdly positioned audio samples. It's reminiscent of the timeless S&M club anthems on the Libido Airbag/Cock and Ball Torture split single, along with rather a large Rompeprop feel, what with its cheeky call ‘n' response structures, diarrhetic vokill slurp ‘n' greasy grooves. The bulk o' the stuff is highly engagin' ‘n' entertainin', but the rest has a tendency to repeat a primarily enjoyable piece over ‘n' over until your interest turns flaccid. They've taken the basic bits o' their chosen Grindcore and Techno sub-genres to create their material, thus the result is simple ‘n' under-developed but so catchy and nigglesome that you'll certainly be hummin' it at length afterwards! Apparently, the two-piece will be performin' at Obscene Extreme next year so, see you there! Don't forget your UV make-up, glowsticks ‘n' poi.
At the arse-end o' the compilation, Rogier Kuzee of Last Days of Humanity, the Dutch Goregrind luminaries who've also produced such malformed offspring as Urine Festival, S.M.E.S and Kots, brings the frolicsome parade to a close with his own slimy charge. Possibly the highlight of the collection, Tumour is repulsive, over-indulgent Cyber Goregrind vitality; super-short blasts o' bawdiness, chock full o' huge slobbery grooves, obliterative prog-drumwork and the soggiest, lumpiest, sloshiest, gluggiest vokill swillment of all time!! This takes the smelly immoderation of LDOH, adds the fleetin', blast-packed song structures of Throat by Creamface, and the vokills, athough they take on the clogged sloppiness of some older Libido Airbag stuff, have an unmistakable urine-soaked, stool-caked water closet mishap blockage sound all of their own! Some amusing song-titles too, like "Eye Removal With Blender"!! Hahaha! At the end, we're treated to an enjoyable set of live tracks recorded at an under-attended gig in Belgium. Sparse applause aside, this is a lovely bonus; the performance comes across very well, with some stomach-curdling vox and an ear-squashin' live sound.
If you're into Cybergrind, this is a must!
