Well… I can't say I didn't see (or hear) this coming, but it's still a major disappointment. It's just another in a sad list, right besides 'Creative Killings', 'Swan Song', 'The Dreams you Dread' and maybe this one is the worst of all, because all of those I could probably actually bother putting in. But this, even for the review I really don't want to even bother. Yes, I will say it, this is THE most disappointing album EVER.

Fleshgrinder were once the most promising band in the goregrind genre. They had what other bands lacked: a sense of personality, melody, harmony, a dark aura, strong connections with old school death metal, amongst other “it” qualities. Carcass “inspired” notwithstanding, Fleshgrinder were more than your average pile of moist, steaming human excrement/flesh/genitals. Yes, even with the generic “your mangled body here” covers straight from damn near any gross internet site and yes even with the generic “copied right from the medical dictionary” song titles AND lyrics. Fleshgrinder had some original qualities.

Now, gone. All of ‘em. Along with remotely tight compositions or fuckin'hell ANY musicality. This is gore-noise, and I know there are some people like it, but this is a blatant cop out for a band with now, no direction, or talent. After lead guitarist/pitch shifter vocalist Chacal left I was rightfully worried, after all this was the man who brought the classical inspiration, the old school death metal riffary and apparently now-all of the doom, gloom, eerie vibes AND decent songs. Then…THEN drummer Johnny left! Ol' Johnny was quite the drummer; a total blast machine who at the same time, loved the intricacies and subtlety only the right kind of nimble handed cymbal work can create. When he and Chacal were gone I knew Fleshgrinder was a lost cause. Rogerio was game to take over the low vocals, and with them being pitch shifted-I for a moment thought “how could he go wrong?” Somehow… he does. He sounds like he's just kind of..erm…“spitting” The new second guitarist and drummer I refuse to name, because frankly they don't deserve it. Neither adds anything to Fleshgrinder, but rather robs them of anything they could have been without half of the members from the albums before. Fleshgrinder always had that “jam session” style about them, where every member kinda' went his own direction in the song, but it all still somehow came together and sounded very natural and human, as if the all had a common ground for meeting-yet everyone drove a different route to get there. Now they all just do their own thing with no true regard to the songs structure-or apparent lack of. The drumming specifically is dreadfully sloppy and downright annoying. Me being at best a pitiful novice behind the kit, and laughing at this “drummers” skill proves something scary to me; Rogerio and Fabio were willing to let just any damn idiot be their drummer.

The new Fleshgrinder lineup can't even cover old Pungent Stench properly, I mean SERIOUSLY… That's like fudging up old Napalm Death or Grave. You'd have to be utterly incompetent to screw something that primitive in composition up…“any damn idiot” indeed. To Fleshgrinder I urge you this: break up, now, do NOT even try anymore, at the very least change your name. This is a mockery and an embarrassment to your fans and your older material.

Thanks Fleshgrinder…this fucking sucks. I gave this “album” of total nonsense a big nasty 0.0 and the sad part is, I'd probably give 'S.p.l.a.t.t.e.r.' a 9.5 and 'Libido Corporis' a 9.4!!!!!
