One of my guilty pleasures involves a frat slut turned trailer trash hooker, a large meal whose bulk is a 22 ounce rib eye steak with Korn, a laxative, saran wrap, and Lividity. I eat the meal first, and then I drive to the red light district where sanctimonious ministers for Christ find harlots for a nooner. Being that 12:00pm is peak time for suits with an itch for a quickie, it never takes long to find a once gorgeous blonde or brunette whose love for the glass dick has left her a harlot who is skinny, scabby, itchy and rabid for more crack. For $20 I get her in my car and head over to the ‘Sleep Over' shit-box of a motel. I pop my laxative, and watch her tweak uncontrollably to the sounds of Lividity's new album ‘Used, Abused, And Left For Dead' as my bowels begin to shift from slow moving to catastrophic. Excessive gas builds making me reach the point where slightly wet farts are dangerously close to spilling in a diarrhea slurpy. Hastily I lay the cunt on the dry cum stained carpet, cover her forehead with saran wrap, drop my pants to my knees, squat with my tan ball sack laid against her plastic coated scalp, and give the tramps face a brown shower of protein and Korn. The sounds of her choking coincide beautifully with gory Lividity, and each song on the new album is an ode to my hatred for all cunts.
In the 4 years since Lividity's last album, ‘...Til Only The Sick Remain', a lot has changed for the band. Matt Bishop was formerly on lead gurgles, but he and the band split due to personal reasons. His replacement is Von Young of the band Deaden. Behind the drum kit is all around sicko Jordan Varela who is arguably one of the best drummers in Metal today, and a tireless member of such current bands on the scene as Lust of Decay, Domination Through Impurity, and Debodified. Actually, Varela is largely responsible for resurrecting the puss infested hard-on known as Lividity. According to an interview I read on the ole Lividity website Dave Kibler (Guitars) states, “Jordan is a big reason this band is up and running at full force! I was destined to quit October 2004 and Jordan had given us a shout out, that he would be interested to keep the machine rolling. So he has been flying in to Peoria, Illinois every 4 – 6 weeks to have a full weekends practice and we haven't missed a step yet.” As a rabid fan-boy I gotta say, “Thanks” cause I was starting to go through withdrawal symptoms for some new Lividity music. Besides, other than Impetigo, Lividity is the near perfect accompaniment to watching porn.
Alright, so what the fuck does the new LP sound like Mike? Well, eager reader, gone is the slightly sloppy play that reminded me of being the 10 th in line to pound Jade Marcela' ass in a double penetration train during a gangbang. Another thing missing are the porn movie samples, which is something that I find refreshing for the fact that it is overdone by virtually every band in Metal including Lividity. Sure a few samples remain, but the difference on this album is that they accentuate the music rather than distract. Musically ‘Used, Abused, and Left For Dead' is total controlled chaos that must be similar to the Daylight Bombing of Germany back in January 1943, during World War II. Everything from the bombardiers' perspective is marked out with near perfection. Once those bombs begin to plummet there is nowhere for the enemy to run, for buildings provide as little shelter as open space. Like bomb victims, listeners are consumed in a merciless wave of destructive sound where 1 second of music is as compelling as 10 seconds, and entire tracks are filled with vicarious complexity. Layer after layer of shrapnel gored music crushes the listener in a vice that at first seems like panic, but then one discerns the new Lividity sound is as profoundly fluid as it is calculating. Whether it's the vocals, guitar, bass, or drums, Lividity is a bomb tearing through every cell of your body gratuitously.
As for the new members, Von Young does not burp as much as Matt Bishop, but his vocals sound like he was free diving in a cesspool where he swallowed an ice cold stew of sewage and embryo stained tampons. Overall the effect is absurdly nocuous and when combined with the gruesome grunts and growls of the rest of the band in the background what is achieved is utterly pernicious. Jordan Varela is tempered mayhem behind the kit. Seriously, he's like an insane character in an action flick that kills entire armies with a knife, a side arm, and naked pictures of Rosie O' Donnell tied around his neck to blind the opposition. The omnipresent rolls he employs are still present, but they are more organized and less prevalent. Tighter than a virgin whore asshole are Varela' fills, blast beats, and he mixes in a variance of speeds from mid to fast, to hypersonic. The double bass is obviously triggered, buts it's not overpowering in the mix, which serves to compliment the heaviness of the music. Dave Kibler is as demented as ever on guitar but he seems to have become more skilled technically. Playing at this speed is not easy and Kibler more than keeps the pace with his rigid riffage, and inventive melodies. He is a caustic chronic shredder as is his counterpart Von Young as they slay ears with guitar pugnacity. Meanwhile Chris Campbell holds the beat together with his brawny bass play. Fuck, Campbell is so warped on bass I'd let him rape my mom with a coat hanger and a bottle of whiskey.
Essentially, what has happened with Lividity on ‘Used, Abused, And Left For Dead' is resurgence towards a gory brutality that they had previously left unscathed. Sure they came close with ‘...Til Only The Sick Remain', but really that album like its predecessors seemed to be more about a good Goregrind time. Really nothing on their past work was standout, but what made up for this were their porn appeal, killer harmonies, and fervent instrument play. By contrast with ‘Used, Abused, And Left For Dead' Lividity has reached a technical proficiency that makes their music as compelling as it is passionately perverted. They have transcended the lovable sound that had left them pigeon holed with other worthy acts like the Meat Shits, C.A.R.N.E, Oxidised Razor, and Stoma among other bands of the Porn Gore genre of Metal. Any listener is going to find themselves slack jaw dumbfounded over the flawless execution of the instrument play (No doubters they ain't Necrophagist, but they rip.), sheer hostility of the music, crazed pit riffs, and cantankerous vocals. ‘Used, Abused, And Left For Dead' is the type of album that should be played during a riot. As for me, I find Lividity to be the perfect soundtrack for whore stomping, and asshole gaping.
