It's time for another vomiting session by these Frenchies playing thick, slurpy brutal death metal with chunks of tender meat. They retched and gagged and finally let go for the first time in 2002 (‘Kebabized At Birth') but at that time their vomit was short-lived. It didn't have too many meat chunks in them and it was just brutal death metal gushing out with NYDM style breaks in their flow and one could make out some Dying Fetus in their vomit. Many songs from 'Kebabized At Birth' have also been used on this album and allow me to describe them all now.
So on 'M.Patate', their full length debut, the vomiting style comes pretty close to their fellow country gay mate Gronibard's hugely grooving pornogrind with less hysteria and minus the baby girl vocals but add to that some really heavy brutal death metal ala Devourment and that would more or less sum up their overall sound. They also often play those strong feet-tapping Rompeprop style parts and then you have MASSIVE breakdowns so awesome and with so much attitude that it would put all those wannabe tuff and brutal death metal bands to near suicidal shame. It makes you jump so forcefully that you shouldn't be surprised if your body suddenly crumbles into a heap of flesh and bones on contact with the ground. The vocals on this album well varied with ree-ing, belches, screams, rasps, gay shouts and even on the spot vocal improvisations making for some good fun. The production I tell you is amazing, comes real close to the mighty booming production on the 'Self-titled' Gronibard. It's impact is so tremendous that you'll feel as if you're in a moshpit with sumo wrestlers expressing deep interest in you.
The album has its share of spoof songs bringing The Excrematory Grindfuckers to mind and a special mention needs to be made of their cover of a song which was really close to my heart as a kid- Reel 2 Real's “I like to move it, move it”. I remember it like yesterday when I was dancing to it like a maniac hoping to impress girls around me in vain. On second thought, I think it was yesterday. Damn. Well, in their next album I'd like to hear more songs like these and a lot more fun and gayness happening. The Jap version which I own has many bonus tracks (6 of them) which include a happy punk song and other enjoyable yet supremely brutal songs. Hey and also there are many videos included in this version and some of them are great fucking fun, if you're not having food that is.
Ultra Vomit will make your stomach rumble. Momentarily, it will even make you experience what belly dancing is all about. Your mouth will swell and swell and eventually end up serving as a fountainhead of thick warm train of vomit. And for once, it'll make you feel happy about it. If you're into Gronibard and would like some effective moshtastic death metal, this one is for you.
